CHARLES MUGARDITCHIAN Obituary

Charles Mugarditchian passed away on February 17, 2024, succumbing to his battle with health complications. A resident of Birmingham, Michigan most of his life, Charles passed away surrounded by his family and the tremendous team of hospice caregivers.

Charles is the second son of John Mugarditchian and Mary Baker and grandson to Lazar and Beatrice Mugarditchian. He is survived by his two brothers, John Mugarian (older) and Edward Mugarian (younger). Though Charles did not have children, he was blessed with an outstanding circle of family, friends, and work associates.

Charles was a political and sports junkie and spent his younger years playing organized baseball and football which earned him all-star status each year he played. Charles graduated from Ernest W. Seaholm High School in Birmingham and Wayne State University in Detroit where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science.

He worked 20+ years in the funeral industry as a licensed funeral director and mortuary scientist. He was mentored by Simon Javizian at Simon Javizian Funeral Directors. Mr. Javizian was instrumental in developing Charlie’s professionalism. Charlie honed his craft under John E. Wilk’s tutelage at Wessels and Wilk Funeral Home in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan, where his tremendous learned skill made for a natural transition and a welcomed addition to their staff.

At the same time, Charles provided freelance mortuary services for the Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties where he took great pride in mentoring and teaching promising young mortuary scientists new to the industry. Charlie proudly became a valued member of the Lowe’s Family where he took great pride as a valued associate and cherished the relationships he built.

Charlie’s sense of humor was the hallmark of his personality. His humble, honest, and sincere demeanor endeared him to all he knew, and these characteristics built lasting bonds throughout his life. He loved to spend time with his family and had an unmatched work ethic. Charles will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched, as he touched many. Rest easy Charlie. The good Lord will no doubt gracefully accept you into His kingdom and bless you as his loyal and faithful servant. You were loved by all those lives you touched.

A private interment took place in the family lot in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Simon Javizian and John E. Wilk with Charlie’s family present.
