HAZEL "Nazeli" KABODIAN

Hazel “Nazeli” of Rochester Hills, age 96, went peacefully into her Heavenly Father's arms on March 13, 2024.  

She was the loving daughter of the late and dearest Giragos (George) and Annig (Annie) Aprahamian Kabadian. And is survived by her cherished sister Alice Asadoorian.  Hazel was a second mother to Alice’s children Adam, Lisa, and Tanya, whom she adored and spoiled.  A loving Aunt to her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews, she was the precious Great“Aunt Nazig” and Godmother to Garo Max Asadoorian. Hazel was preceded in death by dear brother Hrog (the late Anne), Zorob (Sally), Paramaz, and Raffi.  Hazel is also survived by her cousins Hampy Terzian, Yester (the late Simone) Manakichian, and the late Briske (the late Antranik) Mampourian, and many other relatives in California, Lebanon, and Brazil.  She is fondly remembered by many loving friends.

Hazel was an accomplished pianist and singer; in her youth, she was a member of the Detroit Opera Society and the Rackham Choir, where she once sang with the Detroit Symphony.  After decades of working as an Executive Secretary, Hazel retired from Ford Motor Company. 

 Hazel loved "all things Armenian" and will be remembered for her lifetime of selfless giving and unyielding love and devotion to her parents and extended family. She brought joy to all who knew her.  Hazel lived an exemplary life and her Christian ways set an example for all.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

Visiting March 17, 2024, Sunday, from 5 PM to 8 PM in St. John Armenian Church, 22001 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, MI 48075, with Dan Gark Prayers at 7:30PM

Funeral Service in church Monday at 11:00 AM with visiting starting at 10 AM.

Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, 2 PM

MEMORIAL DONATIONS

The family suggests that Memorial Donations be sent to either St. John Armenian Church, or AYO Project (www.weareayo.org), which supports women who have fled the ongoing war in Artsakh.
